Waltja Tjutangku Palyapayi Aboriginal Corporation administers the Disability Coordination Officer Programme in Central Australia.

The aim of the programme is to address the inequity in the participation rate of people with a disability in post secondary education, training and employment.

The Disability Coordination Officer Programme supports both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Alice Springs and across all Central Australian communities. The programme receives funding from the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training.

The Disability Coordination Officer Programme compliments Waltja's Remote Areas Disability Brokerage Programme.

Rebecca Swan and Annette Hayes share the Disability Coordination work at Waltja.

They work closely with other disability services, schools, training organisations and government, and can assist people with a disability to access appropriate services and make successful career choices.

If you have a disability, care for someone with a disability or provide a service to people with a disability and would like further information, contact Waltja on (08) 8953 4488 or email dco@waltja.org.au.

Check out the programme's web site at National Disability Coordination Officer Program for information, resources and useful links.
