Waltja is a community based Aboriginal Organisation, based in Alice Springs, working across the Central Desert Region. Waltja supports the development and management of innovative and appropriate services in remote communities. Waltja is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) offering nationally accredited training and apprenticeships, and is widely acclaimed as a unique, credible and respected business and service centre for remote areas.

Successful job applicants will have a 3 month probation period.
Salary sacrifice is available after the probation period is completed.
Waltja staff are require to undertake a police check.

Reconnect Field Worker

 

Rewarding position available coordinating Waltja’s remote Reconnect early intervention youth services. 

The successful applicant will:

  • have extensive experience in managing remote community projects, community development & / or working with Aboriginal young people and their families.
  • Provide, monitor, evaluate and report on services provided through Reconnect for young people and their families.
  • Have the ability to lead a small team and work well within an Aboriginal community controlled organisation.

Early Childhood Project Worker

Rewarding position available with Waltja’s Early Childhood team for an experienced, enthusiastic person with a background in Child Developement, teaching, training or community development work.  The position will start ASAP and work will include intensive bush work.

This position is identified for an Aboriginal worker.

Casual Drivers

Waltja is currently updating it's casual driver database. Waltja pays $16/hr for project support work and returns and pick ups to Communities. Notice is usually one week but we do require drivers on short or same day notice. Applicants must complete the policy and application form. A current police check, valid NT Drivers licence and extensive 4WD experience will be required. Work is random and available on weekends as well as weekdays.
