Pipirri Palya "Kids are Good" was designed
to provide practical assistance to parents with babies and young
children. The book particularly aims to support parents in their
traditional settings and was produced with the assistance of a Steering
Committee comprised of Aboriginal women from remote communities.
Some of the topics covered include traditional parenting skills,
health and safety, housing and hygiene, substance misuse, neglect
and nutrition. Other topics include caring for kids during art activities,
meetings and whilst driving in the car.
Pipirri Palya "Kids are Good" is a useful tool
for training and guidance for parents living in remote Aboriginal
communities.
