Waltja Tjutangku Palyapayi

'Doing Good Work with Families'

Waltja has it’s own art and media enterprises. Waltja supports the indigenous team with on the job training, skills development and mentoring for sales, cataloging, desktop publishing, social media and remote area travel. Waltja takes part in local art markets and the money raised from the goods we sell whether at the market or online, goes 100% to our emergency relief programs.

This year The Australian Museums and Galleries Conference was held in Alice Springs at the Convention Centre. DesArt organised a special art market with its members for these visitors. More recently the annual DesArt Market was also held at the Araluen Art Centre. Both these events attract a lot of interstate and local people interested in indigenous art from the central desert region. The DesArt Mob market aims to showcase the great diversity of artists and their work and sells affordable works under $500 dollars.

There are always a lot of bargain hunters! Waltja is a member of DesArt, an umbrella organisation for art centres in our area. To find out more about DesArt visit: https://desart.com.au.
