The FaFT program Families As First Teachers provides quality early learning and support for families with children before they go to school. The program aims to give the children the best possible start in life. It understands the important role families have as the first teachers of their children. It understands the importance of getting families involved in their child’s education from an early age. This will help to establish lifelong learning and the wellbeing of young children.
At Papunya families as FAFT to work towards good outcomes for their children in a good cultural way.
In Papunya the family teachers are working with the nurse, making healthy food choices they are learning about brain development, how to have less sugar in their children’s diet and fortnightly meetings with Preschool, Childcare, the Principal, Child and family nurse, Territory families. They share information about children in Papunya community, and work together for the best possible start in life for the young children.
