“Waltja Directors are saying NO to family violence” Irene Nangala, Director
Waltja Directors and staff went to Ntaria to stand up for this program and say ‘NO MORE’ to family and domestic violence.
The day started with a street parade with all the school children. We joined the community for a barbeque. Everybody from Ntaria was involved – teachers, police, rangers, council workers, young people and elders.
We listened to the story about Charlie King who started the ‘NO MORE’ program. Charlie visited remote communities in the Northern Territory to talk about family and domestic violence. Local elders were saying men should link up and take action to stop violence and care for family.

If people are worried about being safe, talk to police or health workers in your community.
